I found a glass piece today while walking my dog. Its probabaly a $30-40 piece. It doesn;t look like its been smoked out of all too much. Whats the best way to sterilize it, since i have no idea where it has been.....its a pretty tight bowl.

prolly rubbing alcohol if you wanna sterilize... or water and soup?
When I cleaned mine I drowned it in the sink for a while then used dish detergent or whatever, haha... the stuff that gets glass clean. Then rinsed it real well.

Boil some water, then take it off the stove and put the pipe in for around 10-20 mins. After that I would take a lighter and heat up the area around the mouthpiece just to be extra sure any nasties are gone.

don't boi it! that can ruin it, just use rubbing alcohol.

Yeah, boiling can potentially risk cracking it... going from hot to cold. If you're gonna do that be careful. I just kept it under hot water in my bathroom sink, does a real good job cleaning just as boiling does. Maybe not to sterilize, though..

Boiling is fine as long as you boil the pipe in the water. Glass can go hot to cold pretty well, but only if it's a gradual change.

Man, that pipe was probably tossed because the 5-0 was on someone's tail...

You have to be really careful when boiling the pipe in the water though as it can bump around alot and break. What I used to do was warm up the pipe under hot water first and then put it into the boiling water (no longer on the stove) and I have never had any problems. YMMV however.
