i tend to still light it even when it is still cherried, just to get a bigger hit.

I can't believe no one else here caps the bowl. When we're passing it in the circle, after each hit while we're toking we'll cap the bowl with the lighter so the cherry dies, then get the rest of the smoke by letting our thumb off the carb. Then pass it down. Next person does the same thing. No smoke wasted.

My other friend does this. It's too awkward. If it's dark, and you're clumsy or stoned, it's easy to not get a good grip on the two items and drop them. Covering the bowl achieves what result?

Obviously w33d burns/vaporizes at a certain temperature. Slowly toking while hitting the carb on and off can maintain at a low temperature, which is ideal. It's still burning while you're letting it die, then scorching when you light it again.

I prefer to not even pass the lighter if the bowl is burning. Why does everyone have to light the lighter if the pipe is already smoking? That calls attention to your area for one thing..

the cherry usually dies in my circle or friends, or if I'm smoking alone. We are very relaxed with our smoking, and we don't get snippy or aggravated if someone is holdin the bowl too long that the cherry goes out of someone holds the joint too long. Usually its because they are talking, or listening to someone talk, and no one elese minds.

Besides how much am I really wasting by letting it go out. Not enough for me to worry about it.

Man, I dont really have a meathod of smoking that I stick to.

If its cherry when it gets passed to me, Ill hit it. Or, if I get the bowl passed to me, its cherry, but I dont feel like taking a hit, Ill let it go out untill im ready. No big deal.

Same thing if im smoking alone. I take hits pretty often when im by myself, but if I feel like taking a few more seconds to take a break, I dont care. Ill let the cherry go out. Again, no big deal.

My friends are exaclty like another person posted. Nobody really cares if I take my time with the bowl or joint. We arent uptight like that. I suppose if you really care, it does waste a tiny bit of weed, but hell, I dont smoke to smoke. I smoke to have fun, and if im concentrating on keeping the bowl cherry and rushing my hit instead of talking to my friends, im not having fun. Simple as that.

Hell, when me and my friends are smoking, usualy a hit is only taken when there is a break in the conversation. I suppose as akward as it sounds, we really care about the conversation and what each other person has to say. Wheather we're talking about life, and something meaningful, or talking about how far we can spit hahah!! We all just enjoy the conversation enough to not worry about the cherry.




Ultimatly, my point is:

I dont care if its cherry or not. Just pass it when you're ready!!

well I think that method would be more for other situations, like if it's just you puffin in your room and your parent's can't smell it or you're dead.

I just accidently exhaled a fat pipe hit into my room toward my door, my dad just got out of the car, and could be entering any second. Just waiting in suspense, but I have a slight chance for him to be cool with it.

I always cap the bowl after nearly every hit, with my palm. I think it saves you smoke. And I like to not rush smoking, or let any extra smoke linger in the air. Plus you can still get some of the remaining smoke that goes down below the bowl when you cap it, if you're using a pipe. So really it's not a waste at all. I hate wasting weed....
