so yesterday i walked into a local smoke shop

the indian owner asked my if i wanted to buy and unbreakable glass pipe

im like ok.....let me see it

he threw it on the ground (linoliam) and it bounced along with no damge being done...!

if it doesn't break i bet its some weird kind of material, not glass. that would be cool owning an actual glass piece that wouldn't break tho.

Actually, it was more than likely just blown to be incredibly thick. Theres no reason it cannot actually be glass. I'm sure we've all accidently dropped a pipe at one time or another and were amazed that it didn't break. I've seen pipes that, although I didn't try, I'm sure wouldn't break if dropped, because of their design and because they were incredibly thick and heavy. I've dropped my own once or twice without any damage whatsoever, as well, and its actually not very thick at all. Glass can be incredibly strong.....theres no a viewing platform at the Grand Canyon made of glass that extends 70 ft beyond the rim of the canyon......with a drop of thousands of feet below it.

The piece I use almost everytime I smoke is really strong (see my pictures). I'm sure I could throw it against the ground without having it break, I've dropped it several times with no damage, not on cement though. I'm assuming at the head shop the floor is carpeted...I bet there is a lot of pieces that could stand that blow.

At hempfest in Seattle every year there is a booth where they sell these kinds of pipes. Two people constantly bounce their thick glass pipes off of their glass counter. I can't wait to get a new piece in August this year.

I don't know, I've heard about clerks bouncing glass pieces off of a floor a lot on these forums, and sometimes people complain "man he bounced it on the floor, but the first time I dropped it, it shattered"

A perfectly even floor is much different than the rocky, bumpy state of concrete, remember that.

Mine fell out of a 3rd story window while being only in a cloth sunglass case and landed on the asphalt parking lot below. Ripped a whole in the sunglass case but not a scratch on the pipe. Its been dropped more than a dozen times and it still looks brand new. Theres a picture of it in the pipe pic thread. When i bought it he slammed the bowl into a metal fridge and put golfball sized dents in the fridge w/o scratching it. It however was not 15 dollars, it was 60.

They're advertised as thick-ass glass pipes that won't break, and they've been at Hempfest for a while. Pretty sure they use Pyrex.
