"it's the wood that makes it good!" ...at least, until you can't get your wood pipe properly clean.

i have two wood pipes (that i got in amsterdam w000t!!!

*glows with pride*)... one of them is all wood (2 pieces) and the other just has a wood stem. i have been soaking (just twice so far) them in isopropyl alcohol along with my glass piece. the wooden pipes get moderately clean but not nearly as clean as the glass. and they haven't started to to split or anything... yet.

SO, my question is... how do you clean your own wooden pipe? i'm looking, obviously, for a good clean that won't wear the wood out. i want these gems to last. or is what i'm currently doing the best bet?

the LAST thing i would have done would be to put them in any kind of liquid, much less rubbing alcohol. it will ruin the wood because it will dry it out badly, and after wood gets wet, it warps and splits as it dries. i'd get those pipes out of there and see what you can do with a pipe cleaner. other than that...

alright, so a bone-head move on my part. at least they're still in good shape. from now on i'll dry-clean them best as possible.

I would see if I could find some kind of brush that could fit inside. Something that will clean it, but not scrub the wood away, about as stiff as a toothbrush.

good idea, yo... brush/pipe-cleaner combo action might just do the trick.
