I have never used one before, only joints and bongs, weird I know. Just wondering, how do you clean them? Also, What is the hole beside the chamber for?

to clean em you can use formula 420 (buy from headshops) or boil them in water, but i hear it aint good for ur peice.

the hole is the carb/choke. Its used for clearing the smoke out of the pipe.

Warm water and a paper clip are all you need to clean a glass piece.

If you've used a bong before, you should know how to use a carb. Hold your thumb over it while inhaling, remove your thumb just before you finish inhaling to 'clear' the pipe.

I have a metal pipe, but if it is the same as a glass one, then I simply unscrew all the pieces and place them in hot steaming water. I then shake them around for a bit, to get all the ashy bits out. Pipe cleaners usually work best

I found that soaking my pipe in acetone for an hour with frequent stirrings, and then just running hot tapwater through it, cleaned it out really well. seems like the acetone dissolves a bunch of the resin and the rest is loosened up, and comes off easily under hot water. I hadn't realized how ****ty my hits were until I cleaned my pipe.. and god how it stank before, now it doesn't stink as much. I had let it go for about 2 months of daily usage before cleaning, and it's only a small spoon. yuck

hey for all you guys spending $10+ dollars on formula 420 , you can use 91% isopropyl alcohol ($0.97) and plain old salt ($1-4) and get the same results. the salt does not disolve in the alcohol and you just need to swish it around for a minute or two. really hot water works well also, just make sure if your pipe is real thin, not to soak it in hot water and then instantly put it into cold water, it could cause some cheap glass to crack or break.

Scrape it!!! dont waste resin. (unless you have a constant money/weed flow) unlike me! I usually scrape mine then boil it and strain the water. (that **** will get you BLASTED) For some reason wet resin gives a different high then dry resin. I would guess its horrible **** for your lungs but it does take less to get you high.
