| I have a clay dragon pipe that is formed around a metal one. I am wondering what the best way to clean the metal pipe would be. I cant take the clay off of the pipe. Any ideas? |

| I'd say isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, as that's what I, and many others, use to clean glass pieces.. But I don't know if there are any issues with using isopropyl on metal or clay, or if it would even be effective (I can't see why it wouldn't though), so I can't say for sure. - Rauch|Drogen |

| Yeah, I second the rubbing alcohol idea. Soak that SOB in a half and half solution of %80-100 isopropyl and water. If you have enough alcohol to soak it in pure alcohol, then go for it. The more concentrated, the faster it will clean. Let that baby soak for a good day or two and then flush it with water and run some pipe cleaners through the length of it. Boom.

| ISO is fine on a metal pipe-91% if you can find it. Clay? Not sure about that. Alcohol is a solvent but it evaporates fast. Test it on a small spot and see. If it works I'd clean frequently so you don't have to deal with a buildup.

| If the clay is fired and glazed, you should have no problem using alcohol on it. Glazed ceramic is basically glass. Rubbing alcohol, q-tips, pipe cleaners, and toothpicks will take care of your cleaning chores pretty quickly. I've never spent more than 15 minutes cleaning a pipe.

| I've been wondering, what would happen if you boil a pipe in cream or some other heavy fat substance? One would think all the residue would break off and the fat in the cream would absorb it right? making the cream a super res hit in liquid form, anyone try or hear of this? |
