Definately glass pipes. Wood pipes give an extra flavor which I do not like and metal pipes besides tasting like crap, give off extra harmful fumes into your lungs. And the glass ones always have the sweet, trippy designs and what better when you're tokin' with friends?

I've been through them all... Metal pipes overheat too fast, and wooden pipes taste like ass after a few bowls. Haha. I guess I like Glass

yea i like glass pipes the best but i do have a wooden oneand they do taste like shit while smokin out of it, but i made it myself and very rarely smoke out of it but if u dont have a glass one id go with wood over metal.

They do overheat really quickly.. I didn't really notice it until I was smoking out of my metal pipe with more than just a couple people.. it got very hot. I tend to take a couple tokes.. wait a few minutes.. kind of steady like.. so my metal bowls rarely get too hot.
I prefer glass over metal anyday, but if I am taking a pipe anywhere outside of my regular smoking area, I will sacrifice the luxury of the glass and settle for the metal (haha, rhymes!!) to avoid a sad situation of a broken glass pipe.

yea i need to get a bowl cuz i make homade ones everytime i smoke or i just smoke a j, but my friend has a awsome one wit these crazy ass designs all over it

Homemade isn't too bad if you don't have the $$$ to snag your own piece. My friend whipped up a great device in about 5 minutes with an empty Gatorade bottle, a straw, and half of a soda can. It is amazing how creative stoners can be!
