Glass all the way. Glass is the best way to get full flavor minus various additives. Every wood pipe I've had has eventually burned and I could taste the wood. My first pipe ever was a shell and it was a nice smooth smoke. Metal is totally gross.

Of course give me a pack of Pure Hemp papers over the above any day!

Getting my first pipe on monday. Just a cheap wooden one off my friend who ordered too much stock and figured I might want it because we talked about them a little while ago. Funnily enough I've never actually smoked out of any kind of pipe, only ever joints/homeade bottle bongs haha.

So for you experienced pipe smokers out there, how does it differ from a joint? I imagine feeling a lot more sophisticated smoking out of a gentleman's pipe than a rolly, but how much looking after to they need to keep them in good condition?

For a wooden pipe i would say just get some good pipe cleaners to scrape it in case it gets clogged(if youre not using a screen). as for glass, part of the fun is letting them get all resiny to change colours and in case youre in a pinch to scrape em and smoke the resin or just resin hit it. so really most pipes need almost no maintenence (unless your personal preference is to keep em clean), just be careful not to break them if they're breakable.

glass has a purer taste and hits better. Since ive boughten a glass pipe i will never buy anything else.

Wood or seashell. I like natural things, and a seashell is the most natural form of glass. (Glass is made out of sand, sand is made out of crushed up seashells.) The best thing about seashells is that if you can find a big enough shell, it is the smoothest hit on this planet, other than a big wooden bong with crushed ice/snow in it.

I only smoked out of a wood one once and it tasted like crap, glass I think it the best although if you aren't careful it's easy to break, and metal gets too hot.
