| I dont know if this has been posted before but what about clay for homemade pipes and bongs? I dont ever hear people talking about it. But it seems like the perfect solution to me, and very safe if you could get your hands on some plain brown clay. Anyone? |

| You have to get the right type of clay, ceramic would work better. Some clay can start on fire or burn when you bring a flame to it but if you have the oven-bake kind you should be okay. I've never smoked out of clay/ceramic so im not sure if it would hit harsh or not but one of the problems with it is that its fragile which is probably why its not used as much. It has a tendancey to crack alot easier than glass, metal, and wood which is most likely why it's not as common.

| Regular clay needs to be fired in a kiln, I believe? Been a long time since I played with clay... ![]() You want to avoid polymer clay, though. Polymer Clay FAQ | Safety & Cleanup |
