Would you be speaking of the 'smokeless bong?' It's been a little since I saw the movie but I believe that is what they brought onto the plane. Anyway, I did a quick search and came across this. Not quite sure if it is what you were looking for but cool nontheless.

That link looks pretty cool FADED but I saw the movie a while back myself, and I dont see how you could smoke out of that thing, without it giving off a smell. It just seems like a dry gravity bong to me. Cool none the less though.

It would be pretty damn hard to have a smokeless bong only because of the smoke that will come from the bowl.

The idea is good, but the design they had in that movie wasn't so much. I have a few ideas for one and am currently in the process of designing a working one. Will post pictures once it is complete.

It's possible to build a smokeless bong, but it would make more sense to use a portable vaporizer.

A smokeless bong would have to have it's bowl inside a sealed chamber. The chamber would have to have some kind of remote-controlled lighting device. It would need an air pump to maintain positive pressure and an activated charcoal filter to capture the smoke coming off of the bowl. The user would exhale into the chamber so that the exhaled smoke will go through the carbon filter. When not inhaling, the user would put a finger over the hole so that smoke wouldn't escape from it. The positive pressure in the chamber would cause smoke to blow out if he didn't.

That seems like a lot of effort when there are all kinds of lighter-powered and battery-powered portable vaporizers available.

The device would be fun to make for SnG. Just to have something to work on. It would definitely be a stoner project but inefficient since like he said there are so many vaporizers out there... Still making one though.
