| i was in my local hardware store (conveniently across the street ), and i saw both brass, and copper piping. the copper was all fit and solder, although i'd probably just get either some metal glue from class or some jb weld and use that, the brass was threaded. my question is which is better for me? i don't think copper or brass are tooooo terrible for you to begin with, but who knows. also, which would be better to smoke from? the threaded brass might need some blue goo (seals threads so they're air/watertight), which probably isn't too good for you. they were both priced about the same, so it really just comes down to assembly, and health now. |

| If you insist on making your own piece(which, even the youngsters, I try to dissuade from doing), completely forget the copper and go with the brass. Copper will only cause you problems. It tastes like shit and it can be very unsafe.

| another thing i should have mentioned is that i work in a metal shop, so i'm almost guaranteed to be inhaling grinding dust, and a handful of oxidized/heated metals at any given point in there, as well as coolant (oil + water). so this can't really be THAT much worse. sure it can't be great, but if it's already happening, might as well make it useful. with that said, i think i might just go glass to try to limit the above. |

| definitely go with brass, they even make screens for smoking pieces from brass, copper on the other hand, with extended use of course (:, can lead to lock-jaw and other very bad problems |
