| hey all, i'm just wondering what the best way of improving a screen would be. i just need a small one. i don't have any money, nor do i have a lot of creativity. i'm good with basic small hand tools, and willing to put in a little time on this. also, what's the best way to get small screens? can they be made out of something like window screening more cheaply then purchased? is window screening a bad thing to use due to chemical treatment? last question, i promise. what's a good way to put a screen in a spoon? i just have mine resting in the bowl, and i'd love to find a way to either keep it from coming out, or keeping it more solidly in place. i considered a drop of super-glue but decided against it because i think it would be toxic. thanks! |

| Try underneath a sink faucet. Or even headphones, like the small earbud ones, ipod headphones for example, they have a screen in them. Superglue wouldn't be smart. Just form the screen in the shape as your bowl.

![]() But that would be one of the best things to use because the ones in the faucet can collect chemicals in your water which you would be inhaling with your weed. ![]()

| Any head shop or online. Google "pipe screens". Failing that, the screens from sink aerators are pretty good. Get them at a hardware store or Home Depot. Quote:
The stainless steel screens in faucet aerators don't collect anything but large solid particles, which can be rinsed off.

I was just going by what I've been told. I usually hold "Homemade" screens with pliers and use a blow torch to them to clean them though.

If money is your problem, most head shops will have them for like 10 or 20 a buck. and i found if you get the screens with a little bigger holes, they don't clog as easily and will last you longer and save you money

| i dont understand why so many ppl use screens. i have had at least 10 glass pieces and i have never had to use a screen.. but anyway. A hardware store would have small screens for faucets for like 25 cents. Surely u have a quarter. |

| I never used to use one but now that I have switched over i like it better for pipes. My main reason for this is only for the fact that you don't get scooby snacks when you use one. I only use it in my pipe though, i don't use it for my bubbler bong or cigarette one hitter. |
