I don't get why people use tinfoil for a bowl in an apple pipe.
Smoking tinfoil is bad for you, and also, the apple ITSELF has a bowl shape at the top (where the stem used to be).

Just put the weed on the top of the apple and smoke.
You may argue the the hole will be too big and the weed will fall down the middle of the apple, but that's because you used too big of an instrument to make the downpipe. I suggest that you use a toothpick or a barbecue skewer, as they are much narrower than say a pen or a knife.

toothpick is too small, and depending on the bbq skewer type, it could be too big... I use a hanger, straighten it out, and poke the holes... Whenever I have an apple, I make an apple pipe... I like using them over a bong, cause I'm mad lazy, and its mad easy to make, and you already have your food for after... instead of smoking, then getting up and finding something to eat cuz of your munchies... you just make the pipe, smoke, and eat! all in one sitting... The only downside, is that it wont get some people as high as using a bong/grav bong/waterfall bong, etc. It depends on the person though, like my best friend gets destroyed using apple pipes, but gets a small buzz on a bong... its weird...

I haven't actually used it yet, but here's what I did. I took out the ink cartridge thingy of a retractable clicker style pen and used that to make the small in the top. Then I used a regular bic to make the mouthpiece hole. I'll get back on how it worked out in a while.
