I use a stainless steel socket (from my dads socket wrench) it works good with big nugs, I cant use shake, coz there is no screen, but i'm looking for a good one, stainless steel if i can find. But i'm also working on my 1st homemade pipe, and i'll have the how to soon, i'm building it from scratch after a little weird dream i had. I'm going to make a pipe out of bamboo, its easy to find, doesnt burn easy, you can find it in any size and there is always planty to replace or start over.

I have a friend who made a pipe out of two pieces from a Jenga game. It worked well. Aluminum foil can be used in a pinch but the aluminum fumes may cause alzheimers. Scientists still aren't sure, but you should be fine as long you don't do it every day for a couple years. I don't know, be creative. If it lookes like a bowl it will probably work.

If you go to your local hardware store (I assume you have one of those) you can go to the plumbing section and assemble a pipe out of a 1/8" brass pipe nipple (that's a short section of pipe with threads on both ends), and a brass street elbow (that's a bent section with one side bigger than the other. You can recognize it because... it looks like a bowl! If you can find some brass or copper faucet strainers (these look like... screens... use your imagination, see where I'm going...), get one or two of those too.
(If you can find these items in stainless steel your hardware store is better than mine...)
Screw the pipe nipple into the street elbow. Cut or scrape or tear or whatever the rubber outside off of the faucet strainer so it's only the metal mesh left. Grab it with a pair of tweezers or hook it with a wire and stuff it into a lighter flame or other fire for a minute or two until it gets nice and black. Scrub it off so it's shiny,and stuff that down the bore of the street elbow. (If you don't have the right kind of screen, don't use it!)
You will now have something that looks and works just like your buddy's favorite bowl. Insert kind bud, spark it up, and... if you don't know the rest, you're in the wrong place.

For extra credit, you can get a piece of sandpaper and smooth down the extra threads on the happy end of the pipe nipple, to keep from chapping your lips when you toke.

i made one with the following:
- socket
- pen shaft
- screwdriver
- candle
- lighter
- screen

first, i broke off the end of the pen that cames to a point. then connected the pointed end into the smalll opening of the socket. third, i heated the end of the screw driver up, using the candle, and worked a hole into the pen shaft. then i shoved the socket with part of the pen in it into the hole in the shaft. might need a little tape to get it air tight. put the screen into the socket and ya got yaself a easy bowl.

If your friend is already dead, and being eaten by vultures, I think it's okay to feed some bits of your friend to one of the vultures, to teach him to do some tricks. But only if you're serious about adopting the vulture.

The best easy-to-find material to use that will last is soda cans. Just tear out a bit of the soda can with a blade and you can make a bowl of any shape/size ya like, and it does work.
