Yeah i would say use a filter... if your making a joint, get a strip of cardboard (about the thickness of the card of rizla packets) and roll it into cylinder, or you can make a kinda zigzag shape and then wrap the rest of it round itself...

The filter in a joint doesnt do **** to make it less harsh. The ones on smokes have tiny holes in them to let air in with your 'toke' and thus make it less harsh. Extra lights have more holes than regulars so they taste smoother. Really your just getting less smoke and thus have to smoke more which is why light smokes are redundant. I'm just ranting, please ignore me.

Who cares about joints anyway?? Not me, but without a filter on a joint all the hot smoke goes straight into your throat. Don't get me wrong, not that I would put a filter in, but that's why cigarettes are smoother. But as for a joint/blunt, if you took really weak hits it wouldn't taste so bad............but who does that? I like smoking through water. This may sound typical in some ways, but it's one of the smoothest ways to smoke, and you don't miss out on huge hits.

Actually, the lighter the cigarette, the more filter it has. Ultra light cigarettes have a long filter, however, a stronger cigarette will have a filter of shorter length.

just keep smokin i have been smoking joints for the last year everyday even 3 to 4 times a day. its not harsh at all and i enjoy it very much and i do not add a filter cause they suck just tough it up and smoke those j's

I'm not a puss or anything. I smoke joints and blunts all the time. I was just wondering what the difference between rolling papers and actual cigarette papers is and why they taste different.
