does anybody have any reason why i shouldny use a trumpet mouthpiece as a bowl. I mean like, is it made from any kind of harmful metal or will it get to hot or anything?

come to think of it, there could be a polish or water proofer on there too. Hrmm I never liked my trumpet mouthpiece (always smelled like ass) and personally I wouldn't smoke with it.

I used to play the trumpet and when i quit i used the mouthpiece as a bowl on a homemade bong...worked pretty good and never tasted bad or anything.the only thing i didnt like is that i couldnt pack it really tight!! its too small of a bowl piece!

I've seen it done before without any ill effects. Although I think it was a trombone mouthpiece. You gotta figure that something you are putting up to your lips all the time anyway can't be that bad to use.

i used to play trumpet when i was a little kid...and for some reason the mouthpiece always did smell like ass but i bought a new one i never used im gonna go look for it now

Hmm ive been using an old cornet mouthpiece i drilled out a little on my ghetto hooka for about a year. (The hooka is kinda famous) Ive yet to get sick form it (or anyone else to my knowledge) or dead so im guessing its safe. Oh and thoose finishes wont like vaporize off with just a lighter(theyre hardcore). Also, I find that the large amout of metal actually works like a heatsink and doesnt get hot at alll.

Actually i used to use my trumpet mouthpiece for a while. It worked fine, but I found that when I bought my glass bowl I could get much harder hitting and smoother hits.

I'm 99% sure that it wouldn't have any harmful effects. If I would have known of any I wouldn't have done it at the time.

mine is made of silver.... but not all trumpet mouthpieces are....
