im in the same position, except im a minor. i cant just go out and buy an old grandpa pipe from yer local supermarket, or get a bong from one of those stores uptown. ive gotta be as resourcefull as possible. i make my own screens out of a safety pin and a soda can. for several months, me and my friends were using the mouthpiece from a trumpet as our pipe, then we used it as the bowl for a bigger pipe till the cops stole it from us. then i stole a ratchet piece from my uncles tool box, filed a little groove around the middle of the thing and stuck it into a toilet paper tube. just use what you got and be happy with it.

They are only wastefull if you stop hitting them. Keep taking drags and it wont be a problem.

As for anyone under 18, just go to your local corner store and ask for ZigZags, the people there will sell them to you, trust me. Its a hell of a lot safer than Coke bottles.


And let me tell you all about homemade pipes. Once a few years ago I had some bud and nothing to smoke it with, so i went across the street where they were building a house, used some pipe sections and a window screen to make a small pipe, and took one big hit off it. Woke up the next morning in a hospital. DONT SMOKE OUT OF METAL WHEN ITS NOT MEANT TO BE A PIPE. Most metals release toxins when heated up that get into your lungs and can even seal your lungs shut partialy. That means you die.

If your going to use it, I suggest you fix it by sealing up around the bowl. Look at the pic and you'll see.

Put a carb hole in it too (hole in the bong above the water - but not too high up - that you cover with a finger until almost the end of your hoot to clear out the bong), but good God save a little change and get a pipe, bong, papers, whatever. A simple plastic bong that size with a removable bowl (serves the purpose of a carbhole) should only be about 25$ US at a half decent headshop.

Your bowl looks gross, the point zinger showed isn't covered and there's no way to clear out the bong at the end of each hoot. It's time to upgrade if you've been at it for a year already..

i dont think it was the metal from the pipe that knocked you out, i think it was the window screen. all the window screens i have arnt even metal. and if youre making your own pipe, make sure theres no crap on it, like motor oil or paint. its just common sence that if it burns, then its probably not safe to use it. wash it and scrub it first. then put it under a flame for a few seconds to kill the germs. if youre using a soda can screen, burn the paint off first. youll see some smoke come off it, then the thing will turn red. when that happens, its ready for use. just make sure you dont make your pipe out of lead or any other poisonous metals. steel or crome is good.
