if i were you i would just stick to joints and glass pieces. making a homemade pipe 70% of the time is making u inhale nasty chemicals. just not worth it. get some papers and ur set.

Ohh...gotcha...the problem is I have no real pipes or papers...completely out. Can someone name all the safe materials that I can make a pipe out of?? Thanks.

I made a homemade bong, but I had to hold it together with duct tape. Anywho. What you should do is ... Take three or four hoots then wait five minutes for the metal to cool down, that way the chances of it heating to a point where it's gonna harm you are down a little.

Making a homemade smoing system is fun, but you really got to have access to good clean materials to make it worthwhile. As stated before, burning certain materials & metals is dangerous due to the fumes they can give off...

Cheaper metals can be coated with a combination of chemicals like laquer, teflon, even foiled aluminum, which are VERY toxic over a long period of time, if not outright lethal.

Steel, Brass, Glass, Wood, Clay, Paper. Those are materials you want to stick to. Steel & Brass should be uncoated and thin so you can bend and shape it as you wish. Glass should also be untreated, but thick so as not to shatter. Wood & Clay should be clean and not from somewhere where chemical treatment has been administered (bug spray, urine, etc). Paper should ONLY be cigarette papers, which you can get from any gas station, etc around.

Jars are your friends my man. Just get a jar of any sort, two bic pen shafts (haha, shaft...), a metal faucet thing-a-ma-boob, a washer, an electric drill (a really sharp knife could possibly do the job too), and some caulking/crazy glue.

First, clean out your jar of choice, you'll notice that my two examples are a dill pickle jar and a marmalade jar. Drill three holes in the lid o' the jar arranged in a triangle of sorts.

Widen two of the holes with a knife so that a bic pen shaft fits in the hole snuggly. Put one in so most of it is out of the jar and angle it outwards from the jar center (does that make sense?). Put the other in straight down so it will almost hit the bottom of your jar of choice.

Seal the shafts in place with an adhesive of your choice.

Now you're ready to make the bowl (if you already have a better bowl than the one I describe feel free to glue that to your pen shaft (haha, I said it again)). Make sure your faucet thing-a-ma-boob (easily stolen off a sink, just unscrew it, or easily bought at a Lowe's) fits fairly evenly with your washer and glue it to the faucet thing-a-ma-boob. Make sure to not apply glue to the inside of your bowl, but on the outside.

Now glue this thing to the top of your pen shaft that's the downstem. Light the inside of the bowl on fire (just put a lighter in for a good 10 seconds, glue burns easily) to make sure you burn off any glue that accidently may have gotten inside. Now wash the whole thing.

Finally fill the whole thing with water, load your bowl (you can take a screen from your faucet thing-a-ma-bob), and enjoy. BTW, the third hole in the jar top is a carb.

For my marmalade jar bong I didn't use a faucet-thing-a-ma-bob, I used some other metal thing I found, so feel free to change the design. Big Mama (as I have named the pickle jar) hits like a queen.

And I just had to include a picture of the weed that was responsible for the whole thing, that's northern lights baby.
