okay, so i went to a hardware store with the idea that i could find some stuff there that i could use to make a nice pipe. i bought a straight pipe about 6 inches long and a T-shaped thing that it screws into. it's great, one part of the T is a bowl, the other a carb, and the last part is what the stem screws into. it seems that a lot of materials are bad to smoke out of, so i was wondering if this pipe is. it's galvanized steel, i guess for plumbing, but i bought the things new and in their wrappers so don't let the word "plumbing" throw you off.

yes galvanized steel is unhealthy if u mean in the terms of using it to smoke. when heated galvanized steel, releases toxic fumes that could seriously harm or even kill u i believe. i would not use it to smoke out. if u need a quick fix get an apple or a carraot and carve a bowl and shaft into and kabaam a new bowl

I think maby you should buy some brass fittings which should be on the next isle and a little more expensive, I think steel and bronze or copper would be a no no I think brass might be ok but I imagain someone will tell me that is worng.

I am sure that brass would atleast be better.

I wasn't sure about galvenized steel, all I found on google was a thread on safe metals(from cheaptalk), and only 1 person in the thread said it did the same as the person above this post said

I would just use a little sluething work Runtime. Hit websites that sell waterpipes for smoking and check to see what materials they use for making them...whatever they use, thats what YOU should use.

Places like grasscity, planetskunk, etc all advertise around the board, and they'll have descriptions of different pipes and metals they're made of. I think the majority of them out there are made of Brass, so at the very least thats what you should stick with until you know otherwise.

all 'galvanised' means is that the steel is coated with zinc to prevent rust...neither of these metals are particularly toxic so you'll be fine

Why don't you just buy a commercial made pipe, be it brass or a glass bong or whatever. If your to young send someone in to get it for you. You could get something online by sending in a money order if you don't have a debit card. You should be able to get something nice for $10. But brass is always a winner if you just have to make your own.

I only smoke legal herbs, when I come to these forums and discuss things like smoking and the high one gets I'm referring to the feeling I get from legal herbs and have no information on what others are smokeing or reffering to. yeah, my little pipe is made out of some type of metal, i got it on vacation, but i would care less if it killed me 10 years down the road :P
