Hey,

Should I build a bong or should I just buy one. I used my friend's homemade one and I thought it worked pretty well. It consisted of about 4 Dasani water bottles with the tops cut off, taped together and a hole at the bottom with a bowl and stem. Where do you get those bowls and stems? Are they the same as a regular pipe with a bowl. I have a pipe/bowl but I don't want to use it because it would be inconvenient and it would prob get nasty from dirty bong water. What do you guys think? Should I make one or buy one? Money, is not really a question for me, but I would have to go to a headshop and that would be out of the way for me plus I would be afraid it would get broken whereas a plastic water bottle bong wouldn't.

but yea if you hang out with a lot of friends and smoke with them then deffinetly go to a headshop and buy a sick bong, but if you mostly smoke alone then make one. Thats what i would do, i wouldnt show up at someones house with a plastic bottle with a pen jabbed in the side of it.

There is nothing better than smoking out of a well made glass bong as far as pieces are concerned. The hits are totally unmatched by any homemade creation.

But if you dont have $100+ dollars to burn for a really nice bong you can make something alright. Check out the homemade piece thread over at Cheaptalk. They have some interesting designs. Just get creative....Its better not to use tape or tin foil in the homemade piece either.

If you have the money buy a nice bong. It is worth it and all your stoner buddies will compliment you on your great bong. Just ask TC!!!

You should be able to get one of those stems and bowls from a local headshop. But if money isn't an option, I'd get a nice glass bong instead...

if you have a place that you can securly leave the bong where you can chill at and smoke (like a house), the go for it and buy a nice 1-2 foot glass peice or somthing like that. bongs are not things to be carried around, as they are big and very incriminating. if you still have the money for a bong and dont have a place, you should check out some glass bubblers. other then that, you can definatly come up with ways to make your own throwaway peices. also, if your into making your own peices, try a waterless gravity (it consists of a 2 liter water bottle, some duct tape, and some kinda bowl head). look it up on the internet.

I'm going with everyone else here. i've smoked out of bongs of all shapes, sizes, materials......and nothing hits as nice as a glass bong, period. Homemade ones will do the trick, but, if money iis not object, go get a sick glass piece....not only will you will you feel the difference the first time you hit it, but you'll definitely be the envy of your buddy who is smoking out of water bottles!!!

If you are on a budget you can make a pretty solid bong by searching for tutorials and gathering the materials at a home depot store.

If you got the money, I'd get a glass one. Glass on glass is best. But at least glass. Acrylics suck imo

if you have the access and the money to buy one, then this post is a waste of time. my first bong i built was made of a water bottle, duct tape, a Trombone mouth piece from middle school, and alot of imagination.
