A pair of scissors and a shot glass work perfectly fine, and that's MUCH better than hand grinding up kind bud, because it doesn't burst the crystals or loose them from them sticking to your fingers. If this is for regs (merch), just use your fingers because scissors don't work that well on extremely compacted buds, plus it's easier to spot the seeds by breaking it up yourself.
It is, or at least the one's you would buy at a head shop (don't really know if you could find something like that at a place like a tobacco shop or something). But just like bongs, papers, and even butane lighter refills are all considered tobacco paraphernalia and can only be sold to a person 18 and over (some places, like Alabama, it's 19 and over). And yes, even butane is considered illegal to sell to a minor, at least where I live; a shop refused to sell some to a friend of mine when he was like 16. I doubt it's really enforced, and it might not even be illegal and it was just that the shopkeeper didn't want to sell it to a 16 year old, but that did happen.

And you can also just try to buy one from a head shop, even though you're underage. I bought a pipe form a local head shop (and some off topics that sounds almost like saliva ) when I was 16 and didn't have a problem. And I've heard of a few people on the lounge saying that when the guy behind the counter asked for a license that they showed it to him and he just gave them a smile, and let them buy what they wanted. so it's worth a shot, the worst that would happen (as long as a cop or something was in there, which there wouldn’t be), would be them telling you to get out.

Scissors....small sharp ones.
But the coffee grinder will do the job in about 2 or 3 seconds.
I've been using scissors for as long as i can remember, they work.
Beats using fingers i guess.
And keeps the rez globs from getting on your fingers too.

I never understood why people ground their bud, but uh...after trying it...wow.

What the hell was I thinking? I must've wasted a lot of herb before. Now I'm a grinder for life. Attacking a shot glass bottom full of emm-jay with a pair of scissors is pretty satisfying, too.

At the headshop here.. they'll sell you anything (assuming you're a minor) in the store (including bongs, pipes, crack pipes, t-shirts, everything) except papers, blunts, and that kinda stuff.

Well, since you are looking for things you can use around the house, you can try using a cheap coffee grinder from a Wal-Mart or K-Mart. That'll set you back about $10 depending, although some people may question why you have one in your room...clean it good!...LOL

For even lower-tech, you can buy a knuckle-buster (Hand Cheese Grater) for about $3...use the Coarse Grind side, and run the bud up n down it a few time...hell you might even be able to collect Kief off it as a side benefit......I think i'll try it myself soon.

But if you have to have a real grinder you can always buy it online...most online shops will ship and sell to anyone using a credit card, check or money order. You can get a money order from the bank, send it and it'll be shipped to you no problem.

Just be sure to hold onto the stub for the M.O so if by some chance you dont get it anytime soon you can cancel it, and get a refund from the bank or the palce you ordered the grinder from...Good Luck!

but anyone if you got like an entire ounce. use a food processcor. Through in 1/2 at a time and just use the pulse-ating button and just chop it. then make sure you clean that **** out mad good... only think i don't like about these "automated" break-upers are you loose mad THC i'd rather just break up with my hand.

YES! Dude my mom has one of those and it works great for me also those cheese grinder things work too you just got to turn the handle.
