Hey,

I actually have never smoked a joint (mostly bowls and bongs and occasionally a blunt). Can someone give me the lowdown on joints? Where do I buy the wrappers? Are there different types/sizes of papers? Which are generally thought of as the best? Do you need a roach clip thing when smoking a joing? What does that actually do?

You can buy ciggerette rolling papers that are really a pot smokers joint papers anywhere, Zig Zag is the most popular brand, a joint is a marijuana ciggerrete and rolling is an art, so if you plan on doing it than you better learn how to roll!
If you want to smoke a roach, you may need a roach clip, its for clipping the "butt" iof the "ciggerette" so you dont burn yourself.

what i do to eliminate the roach clip is throw a crutch in the end of the joint...
i use something a little thicker than regular paper (although ive used that before also) i make mine about a bit more than quarter of an inch, and roll that up and stick it in the end of the joint i plan on smoking from (length of the crutch prior to rolling varies w/ width of the J.. it gives you something to hold and allows you to smoke all the weed w/out a clip

thats how i make my crutches and it hasnt failed me thus far, and im told i roll a pretty good j.

You can hit the SEARCH button on this subject, and you'll get alot of opinions on the the matter.

If you can roll a blunt, you can roll a J...Papers you can get from any bodega/gas station/smoke shop you know. Where ever you brought your water pipe is where you can get paper.

As to the best, best size, etc.. Dont be cheap, get several packs of diffrent sizes types. Some prefer 1 1/4 some prefer Double Wide...Some folks go with Zig-Zag, Rizla, or Hemp, the older heads like Bambu or EZ-Wider...Regular or Flavored paper? The choice is yours, and again I say, take $25 -$30 and buy assorted packs of styles of paper so as to find the best one that works for YOU.

Paper is somewhat cheap, aver $1.25-$2 a pack, unless u buy in bulk, and you'll need to practice your rolling technique anyways, so if you feel up to rolling with the real stuff, kewl then you can smoke your sucess...or you use some tea leaves from a cut open teabag and roll that...and save it as a gag J for people you hate... ...When you get good enough to roll by hand, then spend another $3-$5 and buy a rolling machine...you'll thank me later...lol.

The clip is simply a way to let you smoke to the last drop...you can use anything small and pincerlike to make a clip. You can buy one, which some places will sell as much as $12 depending on how elaborate it is...or use a hair clip, bent the right way, or a paper clip, shaped with a pair of pliers. I went to my local Radio Shack and bought a pair of hobby forceps for about $3...and I use that too, even for my hobby stuff...lol

So go forth, young soul, and try out those things that make you happy...and come back let us know how it worked for you. And yes, you may post pix of what you decided on...

Hit the search button Chad. Anyways, FUUUCK roach clips, I dont even bother with them. When its too short to hold, I just throw it in the bowl, paper and all.

Does anyone roll joints and then when they are done sort of twist one or both ends so that the weed doesn't fall out? Sorry, I am a complete newb with joints, but it seems to be that the weed would fall out if you held the joint vertically.

I twist the end that is going to be at my mouth so I don't get a mouthful of shrapnel, but not the other end. Paper tokes aren't my thing.
