Hello, I am needing help with my bong. i have a question.there are 2 ways of making them eaither where you put the bowl on top or the other way you suck out the top opening and has the bowl on the side. heres my standard pic of my "bong". the first pic is just a pic of the vase im using for the bong.that one way where u can put the bowl ontop and the saltshaker top fits perfectly in it ,pic3, but i dont know how to make a tube from the bottom of the bowl to the water. or i can do it the other way but its hard its a pretty big bowl. and i dont want to use tinfoil or somthing for the bowl on the side of the bong becuase its a very nice looking vase and i dont want to ruin the look with an ugly ghetto tinfoil or somthing. i have a drill so i can drill holes int heg lass no problem. here ill draw a pic to describe what i mean *pic4* I dont know how i would attactch the pen tube to the bottom of the bowl so the smoke can be carried into the bong water.Pls any suggestions will be greatly appreaciated.thx

Ok. I drew a picture to demonstate what I mean on this.

The first bong you were talking about where you light it on top can be done, but I've only ever seen it work successfully with a rubber stopper like you'd find in a high school science lab. What you do (look at bong 1 in the picture) is put the rubber stopper in the top of the bong (the orange arrow). Then, you have two holes in it, where one hole is used to hold the bowl and the other has a straw or something to suck the smoke out of. The piece that connects to the bowl needs to be long enough to go all the way down into the water.

The second bong in my drawing is easier to use, but it's much harder to make because you don't have the rubber stopper keeping it airtight. If you're using a pen tube, you'll have to seal it with something after you've made it (green arrow). In the past, I've used silicone or a hot glue gun (I'm not sure if the silicone is entirely safe, so don't burn it).

For the bowl, you can use a lot of things. I've only ever used tinfoil but I'm sure if you search, you can find other suggestions.

having just glanced at it i'd recommend drilling a hole in the bottom and turning it into a waterfall.

once you've made the hole just fill the shower-cap thing with weed and the bong with water (with your finger over the hole). then place the shower-cap thing with the weed in the bong like you have in your second picture (making sure it's airtight ). hold a flame over the weed and take you finger off the hole and the gravity of the water escaping through the bottom will pull the air/flame through the weed and gradually fill the chamber with smoke.

once the water's run out just take the shower-cap off and breathe the smoke in through the top. looking at it again that would actually be a ****ing sweet smoke.

thanks blonde for the help but i think a waterfall bong would be easier becuase with the basic bong setup (where you suck out the top) is hard becuase its hard to (lets say a pen tube) put the end and make it go around the WHOLE bottom of the bowl. but also with a waterfall bong it would be hard to remove the bowl of the top when the chamber is full of smoke unlesssss... here ill draw a picture and show you what i just thought of. what do you think? but my question about is this and other waterfall bongs when you light the weed doesnt mose of the smoke go out the top and float in the air? or does the water leaking out create a suction that sucks the smoke into the chamber? thx
