I started rolling my own cigarettes about a week ago, and I've been enjoying it quite a bit. I never like joints, so I never roll them and never get practice, but since I started rolling cigs I've come to love rolling, and will roll 3 or 4 at a time just because its so much fun. I had been rolling decent cigs using the normal rolling method, but I found I often rolled them too tight, and I would use too much pressure with my thumbs causing certain sections to be tighter or have less tobacco than others. Today I started experimenting with a different rolling style, and from the first one I rolled they have been 10x better looking and smoking. Instead of the normal method where the gum is on the far side of the paper, I flip the paper around so that the gum in closest to me. I put the tobacco in there like normal, but instead use my index fingers to do most of the rolling back and forth instead of my thumbs. This is better as it forms a more round, smooth roll. I then use my index fingers to tuck the far edge of the paper in, and roll it all the way up, without licking, unroll it 50% and roll it completely back up tigher, at which point I lick the top of the paper to seal it in place. Here is a before and after pic of my rolling, the top one I rolled just prior to trying the new technique, and the bottom one is the first try with the new technique. Does anyone else use a similar technique? I like the way it rolls alot better, and find it easier to do.
