Just to make sure, this is my first time maken a vaporizer... the glass isn't gonna expload on me right? I'm paranoid right now... also, in my lightbulb, theres this brown, light brown stuff thats inbetween the glass, and the screw cap.. is this normal?

Yeah that brown stuff is normal. A knife or pair of needle-nosed pliers are all you need to really get all that junk out.

Also, if the bulb isn't clear, take some salt and shake it up inside the bulb...

Oh, and the higher the wattage the bulb is rated for the better. I used to only use 120watt and higher bulbs. they usually have thicker glass. . .

I can't help with this because I have never made a light bulb vaporizer. From everything I have been told, they burn the herb instead of vaping it.

Ive made one, it works good n all, but I dont use it much...it reminds me of smokin something else lol...

I didnt seen any of this brown crap when I made mine...so Im not really sure what it is. Mines a 75 watt bulb, and it didnt blow up.

Hmmm, I noticed a lot of that brown shit, too. It holds the metal and the glass together so, to be honest, I don't think i could have just scraped it all off. I scraped most of it though, like the stuff that sticks out and doesn't do any glass-metal binding whatsoever. But apart from that, I'm pretty scared of this brown stuff, most likely glue. Then again, the whole concept of a vape makes me pretty sure that as long as the vaping is done at the bottom of the bulb and the glue is at the top, I should be fine.

Enlighten me...

K I just tried it and I'm fairly buzzed but no amazing. First of all, the weed was a distinguishable brown but mostly black, so I'm guessing I burnt the weed. The thing is, I had the flame rather far, but I guess I held it too long. The second thing is that the bottom of the bulb, underneath, ie: on top of the flame got all coarse and rough, kinds bumpy... did the glass melt or something? I was holding the top (metal bit) and it got slightly hot but do you think right over the flame it could have melted a little? Or is it normal?

Now, I know i understand I wouldnt be inhaling the glass because its on the outside, but I just wanna be safe. It's right where it says '60 watts' (i know it's a low wattage but it's all I had, could that be the reason for my failure?)

Finally, I'd like to say that it didn't really fill up that much with vapor. The thing is, I couldn't get a cap to fit so I just covered the top, collected the vape, and hit it. Would that work also?

well, use black electrical tape to cover what ever is seeping out. Ill try it out tommorrow and see how it is.

basil bush sell a lightbulb vapourizer. dont think they have it on the site www.basilbush.com but its for sale in my local head shop. i havent tried vaping with a bulb yet but i heard the taste is pretty harsh, and tbh seems a bit too like smokin crack to me!!

i have tried the light bulb vaporizer. The temperature is just to hard to get right. Not to mention how fragile they are. I broke my 1st attemt screwing a bottle cap onto the bulb after putting my pot in it. Tried again wasnt impressed with thte results and broke it setting on the table. Not to mention it makes you feel like you are smoking crack or something. I was considering getting a professionally made vape but after my experience wiht light bulb vape I think I will stick to bowls and jonts.
