I had to try this today when i saw it. The joint smoked pretty good but its harder to roll em really tight. I will keep using this technique until i get good at it. thanks spiral

Other than it being a cool parlor trick, and the extra flap to hold onto in place of a roach clip, I don't see the real benefit to rolling them this way. I'd rather just stick to what I know. As stereotypical ancient chinaman with big ol' rice-filled teeth say, "It better to know one ability very well, than to know many abilities only a little well."

I don't get why it would burn more perfectly (not saying you're a liar). Maybe it just burned better than yours because he was a more experienced joint-roller.

I don't get why this would be the case either... perhaps it's the placebo effect?

Anyway, one of these days I'll try rolling one like that for shits and giggles, but since it sounds slightly more complicated, I'll probably stick to tradition for my rolling routine.

Thanks for sharing, btw. I never heard of this before, and when you mentioned it in the other thread, I was baffled and fascinated ("An inside out joint? How the hell do you hold together a joint if the weed's on the outside?").

I have to admit, it'd be really cool to see a layered joint, kind of like a layered cake. You could roll a pinner, then roll that into a regular joint, then roll that into a double-length, then king-size, then graduate to a blunt, etc. There'd be no point, it'd just look cool. Sorry for rambling.

Oh- and I am an expert joint roller, don't get me wrong. But you see rolling joints the regular way just gets old, why not freshen it up and go inverted?

JellyBean, incase you didnt get it the reason for using this technique is your using less paper to create a joint. Normally a joint has one side with the joint paper overlapping, this can cause the joint to run, and your really smoking something you could easily avoid.

The only part the joint overlaps is on the gum, what this does is create like a 'spine' for the joint. You'd really have to try it, and although I'm not claiming its the greatest thing in joint rolling- it is definetley a trick for only the best of the best stoners.

Wait isnt it the same amount of paper? Just less paper smoked per hit?

If you roll em so fat the gum sticks to the other edge of the paper. Theres a flap that you can tear off when your done rolling it.

I used to do those all the time for my girlfriend, she likes smoking little pinners (melters ), and I didn't like the idea of rolling up a joint that was half paper. It takes some luck to get it stuck perfectly, but if you're using thick papers it's very useful.
