what can i use for a screen or filter in a pipe? like things at home or do i have to go to my local hardware store and bu a filyter?

If you have a headshop in your area, just go there. Screens at the one I go to are like 5c or 10c apiece.

I've also heard you can get glass screens, but I haven't seen any around. They're probably more expensive, but it saves you from the taste of smoking off of metal.

Most of the time you don't even need a screen, anyways. Depends on how small the hole is in your pipe, and how you pack it.

Yes.. those screens under the faucet are perfect. I had a post about how to get massive ammounts of screens for cheap.. like 100 for 5 bux without living anywhere near a headshop. But, since you didn't search, I don't really feal like searching for it, either

I've always wondered if there's a health risk to using screens.

I don't use foil anymore, because it melts, and can get into your system.

^Not fully conclusive I don't think, or fully proved otherwise either, but if you have any concern whatsoever, just don't use it.

I get my screens from the local tobacconist, which I guess are the same as your head shops. They're very cheap as people have said, shrapnel cheap so head to one if you're able, for sure. I think they're pretty safe to use as well, since they're made for that purpose, though i'm not sure, so don't take my word for it.

About the glass screens, I have some and they are by far the best. They kinds look like a jack, you know like the game jacks, but smaller. Good thing about them it that they last forever and never get clogged. Except they turn black after alot of usage and can blend in with the burnt weed & ash so be careful when you are dumping it out. As for the cost it isn't too bad actually, only a few bucks. I think mine was like 3 or so.

Check out an old window screen. One may be up in an attic or a basement. One of these can yeild litterally hundreds of pipe screens......(I should know) he he he

if you have a really nice sized bowl you can use a glass marble. becarefull not to heat the marble up to much or it will crack
