Hey, my freind has recently aquired a trumpet mouth pice that were going to use for a bowl in homemade bongs, but were not sure what its made of, and if its safe to use. So does anybody know what trumpet mouth pices are made of, and if there safe to smoke out of?

i know a lot of people use instrument mouth pieces for ghetto bongs, so i wouldnt get too worked up over it. I would be more concerned of coating your lungs with tar then intaking metal fumes once a week.

I'm no trumpet player, but I'll bet they are made of brass. Brass is safe to smoke from.

I am interested in this as well.
I am going to have plenty of opertunity this summer to get blazed so I want to make a pop bottle bong. I have no idea where I will get a stem and bowl >.< I know metal is always good, but I dont know how to get ahold of some fully metal pen, and a ratchet head is somthing I cant just pull out of my ass Any suggestions on pen brands that would make a good metal stem? Or any way I could get a bowl (I have a screen from an old sink already so size shouldent be a prob) ?

pen tubes are ok as long as they dont burn. use a metal socket head for a bowl, 12mm is good. instaed of tape to conect everything, use funtac. again, as long as it done burn its good. funtac is waterproof, moldable, and re useable. if u want a good bong, here-

Where can I get funtac? I also hear that silicone is good for securing a bowl. I just have no idea how to get it to melt and hold or where to get it.

funtac u can get at craft stores. silicon? home depot or som,ething. u dont melt it tho, it comes in a tube, and u need this gun thing to squeeze it out, anfd then it dries. if its a permanent thing, any industrial strenght adhesive will work, but funtac is reusable.

For my first ever homemade pipe i went all out... i bought some copper pipe and some brass "compression fittings" from Lowe's (headshop in disguise ) and it worked pretty well

hehe, I saw my friend make two in front of me so I know how to put one together Of course his is great, metal stem, screen, and bowl, I just want somthing to use and not seem lame around him, lol. Most of the time the stem is kinda near the middle of the bottle, prevents any chance of burning your eyebrows off, but does that hose thing work better? What kind of hose would you use?

Basicly I'm just looking for suggestions on a good pentube to use and any suggestions on the bowl. The bowl/screen/stem will probly get a fair bit of use, I might even use it for a gravity bong as well


Oh btw- I do have that blue tack, electrical tape, cocking, and even plumbers putty so I'm set in that respect
