Ok, the tube on top, the ash catcher, and the slide are from my broken 4 foot Sky glass bong. The five gallon jug was given to me by a friend. The female was just a broken one I had laying around. The only thing I had to buy was 1 foot of PVC and a roll of duck tape to seal it. I used a hot knife to make a hole in the jug for the female piece.

Dude! My friends and I did something very similar except we used the five gallon to make a hookah style thing with four rubber hoses into the main chamber and the top housed the bowl and downstem. We made the bowl out of aluminum can and used aluminum tubing for the downstem. We took it to the beach for spring break and had a total blast. The bowl held about 4 grams at a shot and smoked out 12 heads for 30 minutes straight. The chamber was just entirely too large (which wasn't exactly a bad thing!). Super smoking device Richard!

peace n love- It smokes pretty nice, it milks up really good. It's really hard to clear though. I still want to get a nicer diffuser for it. I put a rubber grommet on the one from my ADS and had that in there for a little while, that made a huge difference. Even if I buy a nice diffuser for it, the total cost of the build will still be extremely low. I spent $11 so far on PVC and tape. The shop I go to will probably give me a diffuser for $20. Pretty nice for a $31(If you don't count the broken 4 footer) bong.

FunkySkunky- That's awesome. I have another one of these jugs that I made into a hookah almost exactly as you described. Mine just has a little bowl piece though. I put pics of it up later. Was yours hard to clear?

Wayyyyy to much water. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a huge bong if its almost full of water. If I were you I'd make the downstem longer and ditch the massive amounts of water. still though, it looks like it would hit nice, and its not going anywhere lol but if you tiped it over you would have a HELL of a mess to clean up.

That was actually what I initially wanted to do. That's the way we had it at first. The idea was to have a lot less water and a long stem but it doesn't work well. It was extremely hard to pull and it took at least six breaths to clear all the smoke out. It actually hits much nicer now.
