I don't know what -50 grams means but it seems I can't be good as this happened before I even made a post! I just got here! Well I am new so cut me some slack please. thanks

I'm pretty sure everyone starts off with -50.... I'm not too sure why.
I know I did, though... Don't worry about it, they're really easy to earn.

I'm not sure as to why you might have -50 grams. I'm fairly new myself, only been on here about a month. But a good way to get that -50 up would be to get out there and give your opinions to all of us on the fourms!

Alright, cool. Just so I know (and this goes beyond what it says in any rulebook and is more a matter of the site's attitude of what is and isn't done), what does it take to get banned here? Obviously that is far opposite to my goal, but my buddy Space Toker was banned for a year at cannabis.com JUST for good-natured ribbing! He and the dude he ribbed were later talking friendly in another thread and he made several quality posts. But in one of them, he said "the Mars Mission won't happen until year 2035, when I will be x years old". If you did the math, the age in the profile was 12 years younger I think he said, but still WELL OVER the legal limit of 18. He received an automated note saying "you have been banned for 1 year for lying about your age in your profile and for rude/unnecessary comments". He had no recourse to discuss this with anyone, and had never been warned before or banned for shorter periods. I tried to merely ask if he can discuss this with anyone, and I got a message stating "you got a well-deserved 2 week ban for obnoxiousness!". WTF? Neither of us said anything threatening or terrible, and I got 2 weeks and he got a year? Sounds like the twisted US Injustice System to me! He is upset that he finally found a place he could discuss space exploration with and someone decided to ban him for trivial reasons. It could have been any of 6 mods that oversee that section, and at least one of them is a member here as you can learn from a google search, so if it was him hopefully I can get an explanation as to why this was necessary. Couldn't the post in question just been edited, or as a last resort deleted? Shouldn't there have been at least 1 warning before a banning of that magnitude? Shouldn't he be able to talk it over with the mods superior to see if it was justified? Mods can make mistakes and some have even been known to abuse their power, shouldn't there be checks and balances to prevent that? He thinks the real motivation was the mod knew him from another website and didn't like his political views or some similar personal irrelevant issue, as he was not back there long enough to make a bad or good impression on his own. Space Toker put forth a pro-technology and progressive exploration position and at least one mod responded with an anti-technology post, could it be that trivial an issue that caused this? My point is not to argue this here, just hoping someone PM's me about it with an explanation, and that this place is not that heavy-handed. I want to be a valuable contributing member in my own right here, but had to get this off my chest. If part of this post needs editing or whatever, key word NEEDS not just because someone wants to, then go ahead and edit it, delete if there is no other option, but don't ban me please! I'll be a good boy, I promise! And yes I am well over 18 too and that's no lie! peace

If you go back and edit post number four in this thread and break it into paragraphs, I might be inclined to come back and read it, which then might give me the inclination to give you some rep or thank you for the post if the information it contains is, in fact, worthwhile. (And I think you get grams if I do either of those two things. If not, you at least get reputation points, which aren't a bad thing.)

Just kidding...well, half kidding. Shorter paragraphs are much easier to read and as you spend more time here, you'll learn that many people here agree.

When I typed the post, I tried making paragraphs, then went back and tried to edit it into paragraphs. Both times, it just jumbled it all together again. Nice to meet you though Blondie! And someone's got to explain this grams thing to me, if I can check out and smoke my 64 grams now I would be happy!

Welcome to the site. If you want to know the rules, read the posting guidelines. Grams are explained here and as long as you don't break the rules (for instance by telling a member to "grow a brain" or "their mommy is calling them") then there won't be any problems. Like many other sites, saying "I was only kidding" doesn't cut it.

Here is an explanation of the process that happens here when someone breaks the posting guidelines.

Each board has their own rules and as a member of half a dozen of them, I've never had a problem learning, respecting and following them.
