| Greetings all my soon to be 420-friendly friends. My name is Randy and I am from London, Ontario, born and raised. Heck, I even ran for Mayor back in '85 and may well do so again next time the big chair is open. Hell, I don't expect to win, but it is an interesting exercise. :P I have been toker "forever". Started when I was about 15. That was what? Somewhere around 38 years ago. Yeah, I am an old guy, but don't look or feel it. I was into the whole hippy drug scene back in the 70's, but pot was the only "drug" that I liked. I am now becoming a vocal activist. I am trying to start a London 420-friendly online newspaper. It is geared for London, Ontario 420ers, but open to everyone. (am I allowed to say the here? I'll soon find out) It is slow going. Slower than I thought, but I'll continue on just the same. I came here primarily to find current, Canadian marijuana news. It is not easy to find. Is there a government conspiracy to thwart our research of Marijuana in Canada? Why do I think that? Well, if you search for "marijuana Canada" as an example, you will not find much government stuff. That is because somewhere along the line Health Canada decided to spell "marijuana" as "marihuana". So change you search to "marihuana" with an H and you will find more articles. Sadly, they are all old. I look forward to reading your posts. | I am happy to see I was allowed to post my dot com in my signature. I'll assume then that it is okay to talk about. 420-friendly.com will be geared specifically for the London, Ontario and surrounding area. I see it as a newspaper format with plenty of section so as to have something for everyone. I want it to be a community effort. I want local writers first. Then local coders to help add the toys. No point in adding toys until I have some folks to play with it. Nothing lonelier than a chatroom with just one person in it. You can almost hear the echo.... I see having an e-commerce page sponsored by a local headshop. There are lots of 420 folk in the rural areas who may never know the wonders of say Bob Marley papers, or a sleek vaporizer. I see local sports writers, budding movie and dining critics. I see much from the entertainment industry here. The possibilities are endless all because the catch is it is local. The shops advertised, bars mentioned, restaurants critiqued...even the people in the chat and dating pages will be ones you can actually go see. Maybe not the latter so freely, but you get my drift. The London area is large enough to support such an endeavor. Now all I have to do is find the locals to help make it happen. As you can see, my talents are limited. I thought at first if I put my webdesign stumblings out there in public, some local stoner with some spare time would jump up and say hey, I can fix that up. We'll that didn't happen. Not yet anyway. I can still hope. Photos! I forgot about that. I would love to post photos of plants and buds and such. I have some of my own but not many. It doesn't take a whole pile of bud to get a good shot either. I shot some today with a 3 gram bud and they look great. I don't have them uploaded anywhere yet, but be assured they find thier way to tp 420-friendly.com. Am I rambling? That'll happen. It's something I have come to live with. If you are in or near London and have even an inkling of talent, get in touch. If you have a lot of talent the REALLY get in touch. I put attitude before ability. The more one is into a project the better. Even if you just want to talk about it more. That's cool too. By my talking about it new ideas are born. That works for me. Oh and if you really, really like this idea and have a pocket full of cash, under the right circumstances I'd be willing to make a % trade for backing. I prefer to pay my volunteers. Okay, that's enough for now. I look forward to any kind of input. Oh and if you are FAR away from the London area, you might want to think about adopting this concept for your area. But, be FAR away, eh. ![]()
