Hey now--I'm new here, but I've been around for awhile. I have my brother to thank for putting needle to vinyl back in the day and forcing the studio cuts of "Casey Jones" and "Truckin'" into my ears until I finally said "Can you play that part again?" I think Jerry is unsurpassed in his ability (Anyone who sings a tune so sweet is passing by) to make those rusty strings shine--and I am so thankful that I was introduced to their music. Strange, but whenever I think of them it's images from a concert in the '80's. and you know--they haven't aged a day!

Please excuse my enthusiasm--I watched a video of the G. Dead this a.m. and it hasn't exited my subconscious yet. It's about a guy in a band (R.I.P. ) and some friends of his and they play really, really good (if you like that kind of music); they've been around since the '60's tho the music has evolved w/40 years of working on it-- and once you're hooked they've got you and you can't do anything about it (but funny thing is you don't want to)--you just want them to play, but let me warn you, don't listen to too much at once. However, I will highly advise you to bend your ear to hear the tunes and see if you like them.

Default American Beauty Rose

My all time favorite Dead album. On that album the tune 'Ripple' is my all time favorite Dead song...'if my words did glow...with the gold of sunshine...and my tunes were played on the heart unstrung..would you hear my voice come thru the music...'
