Hey folks, I'm new to this site but have been token' since '81. I find a lot of the information on this site very helpful and informative. I'm in a bit of a quandary at this point, however. I moved late last year from Boulder, CO to NC and have not met anybody here that I can get "hooked up" with yet. My work as sent me back to CO a few times since I moved, but that won't be happening anytime soon.
Does anyone have advice on how to meet some new folks that I can befriend and hopefully party with? I am living in the triangle area. I'm a bit old to go to clubs or places frequented by the younger college crowd, but maybe I should try that anyway.
Any advice on this would be helpful....Thanks..Bill

I know how you feel as I have moved across the country a few times and had to "start over", so-to -speak.
I used to live in Lakewood, CO too and am very familiar with Boulder also.
When I first moved to Oregon, I didn't know what to do to find a hook up either. Finally, I decided to contact the local NORML office and they helped out and even tried to see if I would be interested in becoming a caregiver to those patients who have medical mj cards and need their medicine but cannot get it themselves. I would have had to deliver their medicine to them personally. I never ended up doing it though.
You might want to find out if the area you live in now has a NORML office and see what they can do, otherwise you could try asking someone at any local headshops.....some might help but others, I'm sure will not because they just don't know you. Otherwise, you may have to check out the local bar scene, shoot some games of pool or whatever with different people and casually ask during a game over a few drinks. I have had LOTS of success doing this method....but it too, is risky. Hopefully......you get lucky and they bring up the subject first.
