heya my name is jordan, i just graduated from hs and now going to westminster for business major. i played football for the school and this year we took 5a state! 1st time in 7 years! life is OK for me, i have a pretty nice house and a car acura legend its soooo badass! i've never done weed or howd u call it, so i was wondring if its dangeros or addictive? i heard that anti-drug commercials are not very true, so is that ? cool well i dont know much so dont flame. heres pic if they'll work

I live in Canada, so I have never seen an American anti-marijuana add, but they must be as full of shit(or more) as they are up here in Canada.

Welcome to the board. Weed is only as detrimental as you let it become. I've smoked weed for two years, and I'm a junior English major with a 4.0 GPA.

Marijuana is not a physically addictive drug, but it IS addictive in the sense that if you really enjoy something, you want to continue doing that something for as long and as often as possible. However, you don't suffer through withdrawals or anything as severe as you see with other drugs. Marijuana is really no worse than alcohol, it just has different effects.

If you can maintain your motivation and manage your time, marijuana is a nice way to broaden your perspectives on the world in general, in my opinion.

nowhere close to hard drugs. you can smoke one day and not want to smoke for weeks after. its all up to you. trust me, you wont be an addict after your first time. plus, have you ever heard anyone being refered to as a weed addict? its almost always "H" or the white powder.

The only thing that you have to worry about with smoking marijuana is becoming a "burnout"....and almost every stoner knows one. They're the people that let marijuana become such a large part of their life that they neglect other aspects of their life - like school and relationships.

These are also the people (in my opinion) more likely to use marijuana as a gateway drug. They're not so much stoners as they are just people who want to be f*cked up all the time because they're attempting to escape other aspects of their lives.

But there are plenty of people who smoke marijuana all the time and manage to maintain their focus in life. You just have to strive to be one of those, and not a burnout.
