ok so i smoke has around 4-5 times a week and carry it in my wallet, im going to be flying to dubai, UAE in 2 weeks i have heard they have a ver strict drug policy out there and have arrested people for 4 years for having a spec of weed stuck on the shoe so im a little paranoid....

i was thinking about buying a new wallet and dry cleaning the clothes i am going to fly in.

any tips?

Besides the wallet and the drycleaning, I'd buy new shoes with smooth soles and carry a toothbrush to clean off the bottoms before deplaning. I'd turn out my pockets and seams to make sure that there were no particles left after the drycleaning. Hell, I wouldn't even go there. I assume you have to go on business. I can't imagine going there for fun.

I'd worry about picking up microscopic particles from the plane seats or carpeting.

How would you even recognize a 0.003 gram marijuana sample? Four years for three poppy seeds? These folks are nuts!

Dude, Dubai is a huge tourist attraction.

They built a bunch of friggin palm islands for cryin' out loud. Their architecture is out of this world!




Anyways, I'd go with what Buzzby said. Make sure you do this a few days before going out so you are sure to clean everything off and aren't in a hurry. Obviously run all your clothes through a wash and if you'd like you could could get a lint-roller

He isn't attempting to smuggle anything into the country, so he should be A-OK if he just cleans his clothes and takes a few precautions.

From the pictures, Dubai looks like Miami Beach on steroids - without the Jews. Definitely not a place I'd like to go for fun. It appears to be a tourist attraction for the very wealthy.

Thats what the ruler of that country is attempting to do. His oil revenues are coming to an end. He has said that and he is attempting to position his country into something similar to Switzerland of the middle east. Spiral has just shown you SOME of the structures he has built with his oil money. And you're right about one more thing.....no Jews allowed.

PS.....I'm waiting to see how well those man made islands hold up to a cyclone.

A friend of mine went to Dubai a while ago. Said it was incredible. He's not rich either, but that didn't stop him from visiting a lot of sites and shopping centres. He even came back with one of those Arabic man-dresses, with the head towel and everything.
He's Macedonian, too, so he has slightly tanned skin and gets a good laugh by getting his mates to drive him around town here when he has the head dress and some sunnies on. They get a few odd looks.
He isn't a pot smoker though, so he never saw anything of this problem. But if you're that worried about it I'd just do what most of the people on here are saying and make sure to thoroughly wash your clothes and maybe get some dry cleaned if necessary. Turn the pockets out before washing, etc.
Was business the reason you're going?
P.S. If you're feeling really game, ask a Travel Agent the hypothetical. lol
