OK so me and 2 other friends of mine were smoking a blunt under a pavilion in the woods close to my house. The blunt is half way done when my friends like "Hey how much match do you have on you?" So I pull out an 1/8 and not even 30 seconds later a ranger pulls around and busts us. First he was like "OK where is the weed?" While saying this he walks up to me and is staring me down so I'm positive he was watching from the woods. So like a stupid nervous person I say "In the blunt I was smoking." After this he makes me empty my pockets and finds my bag. He finds the blunt on the ground as well. So he's all like "Get in the car!" I get in the car and he's about to call the cops to arrest me but I talk my way out of it by saying "I have to go to college tomorrow and take a test." He calls in my info and 5 traffic tickets show up but my Marijuana charges from 2 years ago do not. So I end up with a ticket for Drug abuse - Possestion of marijuana. Thats exactly what it says. My question is should I stick with the 'It's my frist time since my previous charges didn't come up? Also does anyone know the max penalty in Ohio for drug abuse & Possesion? Any advice on what to say in court would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance .

Why didn't you guys break out when you saw the "Ranger"?

In court just fess up because the "Ranger" probably won't be in attendence.

Well I called the courts to get all the info I could. Turns out max fine for what I possesed is 100$. I don't know about abuse charges though. I can possably get my previous expunged but I think it would cost too much. Well thats as far as updates go for now cuz my court date is 30th. Wish me well all.

You can also only get your record expunged once in your lifetime, I don't know if I would waste that on an incident as minor as this.

I have accidently dropped the weed into the wind on more than one occaision as I was pulling the bag out of my pocket to hand over-- on some occasions it really pissed the officer of but even then he didnt try to scrape it off the ground. Of course that was in the 70's when all the LEO in may area did was take the weed and dump it and send us on our way.
