Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and hope to be around for a while.

I'm trying to figure out how to get a petition together to make medical marijuana legal in Ohio. Does anyone have any idea what the requirements are in order to get it on a ballot??

Best place to start is to contact your local NORML and MPP reps.

I'm feeling extra helpful tonight, so here you go...
Norml: Ohio - NORML
MPP: Ohio

In reality, unless you are either rich or politically influential, you probably don't have a chance to get something on the ballot all by yourself, which is why reaching out to some of the more prominent pro-medical-marijuana groups will help you find out what needs to be done to get it on the ballot.

Thanks for the super-handy links shibshib (mind if I just call you shib?).

Like everyone else in the US right now, I don't have much money.

But I do have something most people don't have. I'm a marketing expert and a PR flak. So I know how to PUSH something, and I thought, "What the heck...maybe I can help."

I only thought of it because I know that there was a bill introduced in Ohio several months ago, and I was trying to find out who's desk it was on. During my search, I found a link to sign a petition.

After signing it, I realized it was old...and it only had 260 signatures.

I thought, "Hey...I could get a few thousand in a week by myself if I put my minds to it." Which leads me to put my mind to it, simply to prove to myself that I can.

But you've given me a place to start, and any more input from anyone is appreciated.
