almost got arrested yesterday

Wow I never realized how stupid it is that marijuana is illegal until yesterday my retard friend goes through a stop sign after boxing the car. The cop calls the k-9 unit and they come in. Ask us questions but didnt bring out the dogs. Me and one of my other friend admitted there was weed in the car and it belonged to the other kid. The other kid denys it and it pisses off the cop and he arrests him. Fortunately he let me go but I still thought it was stupid as hell. One of the cop told me "Don't do weed, it's not worth getting arrested." That was his ONLY reason for me not doing weed which just shows it being illegal is stupid as hell.

while we were waiting in the car we all said "we're gonna tell the truth and this will go the smoothest that way" but the friend who owned the weed still denied it

one of the cops was like straight outta superbad tho he was real cool lol

That is the absolute first time I have ever heard of a single person taking a blame for marijuana possession in a legal standpoint.

Officer could've arrested you as well. Looks like you got lucky.

I thought they usually arrested the driver. I mean, he ran the stop sign and the marijuana was in his car.

Also, I wonder if these cops were in approval of House Resolution 5843.

It depends on the state, the evidence at hand, etc....In some states, everyone would be arrested, in some states the driver would be arrested, and in some cases, if the evidence clearly pointed to it belonging to a specific passenger, sometimes only that person is arrested.
