| NORML News: Medical Marijuana Employment Rights Bill Passes Both California Houses; Awaits Governor's Signature This does not allow them to smoke or be high on the job, but they can't be fired just because they test positive for THC. I wonder how this will work in industries that have federal contracts with "Drug-Free Workplace" requirements and with the insurance companies?

| Thats a good question...............my guess is maybe their on the job performance/quota's they could be sued for some form of discrimination I would imagine if they just said no to people because of their medication, or they might get away with good old federal law says no so it's still not going to happen.Will be intersting to see what comes of this. |

| Buzzby would probably know, but I do believe that a doctor would loose his license if he wrote a prescription for herb. They are allowed to recommend it but could loose their license for good if they write a scrip for an illegal drug, even if that state has medical marijuana. I think this is a wonderful step in the right direction as far as MM is concerned, but it sire won't be a hassle free law even if the Terminator signs it into law. I wonder if anything was written into it about workmens compensation? And, as already has been mentioned, what will the big insurance companies say? It really can get very confusing with so many parties are involved. The insurance people are going to throw a hissy fit and say by federal law it's illegal so they aren't paying. This one will be herded thru quite a few courtrooms before it has any effect. There is one simple answer to it all though......Legalize it! ![]() Some Where In Ded Land.........
