I just don't get it, how is it possible to get caught or busted for pot, even if you have pounds of it and in an unfriendly to pot state if you are being careful? As you may have figured out, swim have never been busted even after years and years of usage but I am curious to hear how some of you may have gotten busted so I can learn and never have to face this. Of course most pot smokers probably have never been caught, and perhaps the media paints a false picture altogether but still, how could these individuals get caught?

More specifically.....for example......if you buy your pot from someone you know or at least in a safe and not sketchy place, and then take the pot back to your place and smoke it in the privacy of your own home how can anyone find out? Even if you have pounds and pounds, or grow hundreds of plants.....like all in your closet or inside a shed how can authorities find out?

Of course a lot of these arrests are probably often made in public.....such as smoking in a place where a cops may come by. Still, even then if you keep a look out, not smoke, and act normal when a cop drives by how are they going to find out or even care? Of course in other areas, such as growing lots of pot in your house one has to worry about perhaps the smell of such dank reaching neighbor's noses. However from swim's personal experience I find that even dank smoke can't usually be smelled from a distance, let alone the un-burnt pot itself. Even if they smelled smoke, I think most people wouldn't care too much to think it's anything but tobacco. Heck even then most people don't give a fuck, why should they care what others are doing in the privacy of their own homes.

I know where I am people don't give a fuck, but then again I come from a very pot liberal state (California). Even in more conservative anti-pot states, as stated earlier as long as you keep your stash/plants hidden, how can they ever find out? And yet you hear of home busts all the time (though as stated earlier, this maybe just the media reporting something that doesn't happen often....same principle with plane crashes). I'm thinking if they were caught in a public place with pot, that perhaps this is sufficient enough for the cops to be able to get a search warrant, but is this true? I would like to see some verification here, has this happened to any of you?

Another way one could be busted is if they deal (carefully even) and then one of their customers became all anti-pot and snitched. In this scenario they could be fucked if they have lots of pot.....of course just having a little bit of pot you can easily dispose it quickly if the cops were coming. There is also of course a high electric bill......however how often is this ever used as a final determent without other evidence)?

So how is it possible to get caught with pot if you are careful? I would love to hear some of your accounts.....has any of you who have been careful still manage to get caught (keeping it in the privacy of your home, not letting anyone else know, ect.)?
