| Hey all. I was robbed at gunpoint the other day for my phone, keys and some marijuana. I know exactly who the suspects are, but I feel like I can't do anything since I was the one selling the marijuana and I'll probably get busted for that. Plus, my friend immediately called the police which I thought was a bad idea. We told the cops WE were buying the weed and got jacked, he asked if I wanted to press charges but I declined. What should I do? I feel very unsafe with some random thugs having my keys. These guys are incredibly stupid so revenge doesn't seem like an option, I'll most likely get killed somehow. I was thinking find a way to fuck these guys legally, or maybe take it like a man and face the charge for intent to sell. |

| set them up and call the laws!!!! Although I am in no way a snitch, if I were in your shoes I would need revenge. Personally I would find them and whoop their ass, but since you said thats not an option..... |

| Forget it, and never have contact with these guys again. You could still report them, but leave out the weed part. Maybe the dummies still have your keys, the smoking gun... ![]() |

| Dude you should have said nothing of the weed and sucked that up as a price of doing business, either do what dealers do when they get robbed or do nothing. As for the keys and phone, I'm assuming it was a cellphone why not report that stolen and your keys. At the very least they could get aressted for recieving stolen property even if you couldn't prove they took the shit from you. If they took the stuff from you using force of any kind it becomes a robbery charge as far as I know, even if your phone didn't cost much. Did this take place in your house or somewhere else? |

| Change your locks, And I'd press charges.. How were you meeting up with these people? If there thugs, They most likely already have some dumbass criminal record. So if your clean, You'll have a good chance to win right off the start. And knowing there dumb asses, They probably kept ur keys, And the cops will find them in the guys room or some shit. Id go for the charges for sure.

| Thanks but changing house locks is obvious... but these lowlifes have all the time in the world to look for my car. I believe I was setup by someone who I considered a friend. I could press charges but I fear I'll get busted for giving them a false statement. Me and my friend (the one who called the cops) had to come up with something so we told the police we were the ones buying the weed. For that reason, I decided not to press charges and now if I do I'll have to show up at the court subpoena all that legal shit I don't know much about. If I were to go to court, would it be smart to stick by my story about us being the ones buying weed and getting jacked? Like fuck, what am I gonna do? I mean I'll do whatever it takes to lock these guys up but I don't want to face any charges myself. How much do you think I'd be questioned on the part whether I was selling or buying weed? Man, why do the cops even care about that, I got jacked and pistol whipped, these guys are still on the loose and the cops don't do shit, that's what matters! |

| Well, you shouldn't have lied to the cops. If you were unsure of what was the best thing to do, you should have taken some time to think rather than just acting first. Now, you are in a bit of a bind. On the one hand, if you report the real story, you could be charged with making a false statement. You should've just said the guy robbed you of your phone and keys and left the weed out of the story. Unfortunately, you can't go back and undo what's already been done. At this point, maybe it wouldn't be terrible to talk to an attorney. You could tell him what happened and hopefully he can make some suggestions as to what, if anything, you should do. He'd also probably have more knowledge as to whether the prosecuting attorney would shit a brick over your initial statement. I wouldn't ever say outright that you were the one selling the weed. It's highly unlikely that even if charges were filed that the case would ever go to trial anyway. So it's not like you're going to need to be called in as a witness. Of course, that's just an assumption on which you can't really base your next move because it could come back to hurt you. Like I said, maybe the best thing to do would be to talk to an attorney. Usually you can get a free consultation anyway, so it's not like it would hurt.

| to the cops you are the victim even if the guys who robbed you at gunpoint said you were selling the weed they couldnt prove it and the cops would more likely believe you and that would probably not matter much since they stole your phone, keys, and pointed a gun at you, that carries a lot of charges with it that makes selling MJ look like nothing |
