My girlfriend just got a ticket for Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 5th degree.

She had .2 grams on her at most, and she had a bong with her, she was in a car, chillen on a random road.

She just wants to know what she's looking at. How big the fines going to be.

This is her first time getting in trouble with the law, and this is in new york. Any information could be helpful.

the weed alone is only a $100 fine given the details you supplied.

as for the paraphernalia, it says up to one year in jail and up to $1000 in fines, but seeing as it's her first offense, I wouldn't expect much more than a slightly hefty fine added on to the standard $100

but it really just depends on what the cop wrote down in his report...you never know, your girlfriend could catch a break.

I didn't know if the bong would play a factor, because they didn't take it, they gave it back to her.

unfortunetly no. There was a very small amount in the bong. She hadn't smoked any yet, but had planned too.

I think combined with the weed in the bong and on her, she had .2 grams

what could be interesting is she was chilling in the car. i assume she wasn't driving while planning on hitting the bong, but was she in the driver seat? i don't know if that'll make any difference, but it could be a potential problem...

Saw your posting and it really depeonds on the city/state. I got pulled over back in March of 08, only had enough for a "J". The cop was cool and I didn't have an ounce or more. Had to take some classes and pay a couple hundred bucks to attend a 2 weekend class. Also once the class was done, they wipe it off your record. But, that doesn't apply in every state. I would check out what laws are in effect for this kinda of thing. I'm in California, so of course the laws are a bit different. Good luck

Don't worry about it. She goes to jail, learns some new tricks from the big house dikes and when she gets out, she'll be a whole new woman.
