Hi,

I´m a 37 year old well-groomed professional with no prior anythings, barring a minor speeding ticket which has been paid in full. Never had any sort of negative interaction with police, questioning, etc.

I got busted in Hawaii for 1/10 gram of grass in a pipe (I was on foot). During the bust, I was super polite, super cooperative, and completely truthful. My reward for this was cuffed-and-stuffed and charged with a petty misdemeanor.

It looks like I will get conditional release or diversion sentencing or some sort of first-offender penalty, but my lawyer, who, after getting $1500 out of me, is suddenly a combination of the arresting officer and a drunken-football-daddy, and won't answer any of my questions.

I need some advice from anyone in the legal field or people who have been though it...Thanks in advance..

I'm just wondering if I'm put on an unsupervised/informal probation, can I expect random drug tests, or a proof-of-compliance test at the end or beginning?

Last question is: Is it a set minimum probation period, or is it common to have the probation ended early when fulfillment of the stipulations is complete (fines paid, community service completed, etc)

Thank you SO much...I just don't have extra money to retain another attorney, especially since here in Hawaii, it is like playing attorney-roulette, and I could easily get another lemon.

P.S. I've been clean since my arrest.
