My town is getting so ridiculous. Not a small town but i wouldnt call it a big town either. Basically this is in a suburb of nashville, TN. But anyways last night a friend of mine was having a party and the cops drove by and started spotting everyone. Needless to say alot of people freaked out and ran. I didn't run. I stuck around to see why they were there (No way it was a noise complaint we werent being loud AT ALL). The cops talked to the kids mom and she asked the cops why they came. The cops said that her son and his group of friends were "under watch". They wouldn't tell his mom what for but we all knew it was for pot. Our whole group smoked and alot of people we know have gotten busted and most likely dropped names in court. I don't understand why these police officers are trying to bust teens with simple possession charges. Sure we all know dealers and such but half of them are individually under watch. These cops need to get something to do

Almost everyone in my group of friends is 18 or almost 18. I turn 18 in about a month. So i wouldnt consider us to be children anymore. And literally cops have been showing up at peoples houses and stuff for no reason it has been getting out of hand.

durd12345........listen, man, I have been on my share of probations and paroles.......I speak the absolute truth. When a cop sees a bunch of teens, and knows 1 of them is on probation, they are more likely to mess with them, esp. the 1 on probation. Also, if you are around a group, and the cops come up, and someone gets busted for a felony, YOU CAN BE TAKEN TOO! It takes less to violate probation than to get convicted.
Why? Some cops love to fuck w/ people. Some think they are doing you a favor- trying to get you to do right before you get on PCP and climb a belltower. Some have problems at home with THEIR teen and think " Finally, I can arrest little Johnny!!" Some just figure where there's smoke (probation) There's fire ( Look, Ma, no bail!). Some just want to make a bust or 2, learn how to work the fingerprint machine. Some go by the book.

So, always remember- on probation or recently off it, you are 'marked' and the cops list you as 'potential trouble' even if you are 18, 27, or 58, age doesn't always matter.
If the cops say you and friends are 'under watch', prepare for things like being followed, cops crusing your hangouts a lot, your name to come up in anothers' questioning, ("so, tell us how you know durd12345 and we will let you go....") and so on. Just remember, it is rare that a cop will plant weed to get to an 18 year old. Don't give them a reason to bust you, just play it clean for awhile.

This happened at my old house. All of us were 20-28 with some of us having records. They made a point to come past our house a few times every night. They'll cruise by and if they see more cars than usual they will tail every car that they see leave the house. I eventually moved out because I'm not interested in obtaining a record myself, or more importantly, getting my girlfriend a record.

I disagree. I have a problem with KIDS (anyone under 18) using drugs, and the police should take the neccessary to keep them away from children. On the other hand, I agree with your point about giving a kid a record. I know that the subjects in this topic are around 18, but my post is tangential to the point of this topic.

If they throw the pot out and let the kid go sure why not... But thats not how it works in the real world until than any cop that screws with a kids future over pot possession is a scum bag and I wish nothing but the worst for him and his.

cops always claim "so and so is under watch".. just move cautiously and don't be reckless. also keep your circle tight because a lot of people fold under pressure.
