so it's pretty much set in stone (no pun intended) that smuggling the actual MJ is a bad idea.

But what about paraphanelia(sp?) ? If you have a collapsable metal pipe with a transparant chamber (as I do ), would it be a good idea to take it apart and scater it in your suitcase?

I would imagine if you had a glass pipe it may be easier to conceal from metal detectors and such.

Most likely. I reccomend putting it with other metal items in you suitcase.

I would never recommend bringing marijuana or things to use it with on an flight, but I have done it numerous times in the past.

You are not going to get it past a dog, but an xray machine (domestically) shouldn't be a problem. The first thing that you have to realize is that the folks at the airport are more interested in security than a guy having a bit of weed. I just throw it in my carry-on, let it get xrayed and go flying. (It is pretty funny stoned, the paranoia is bad).

I don't fly internationally much and would tell anybody not to ever try to bring anything in or out of the US.

Also realize that when you are at an airport, you may be subject to federal regulations so it could be a much bigger deal than what your state would have in mind for you.

Personally, I would not be afraid to bring marijuana or paraphanelia aboard, but I don't anymore. Its just easy to get where ever you are.

i plan to buy a bong and a glass pipe when i'm up there later this year, but i'm not going to smoke from them(so dogs wont smell them), is smuggling new bongs bad ideia too? i'm pretty sure its not....

You should be alright, even if it goes through the x-ray and they end up opening up your bag, there's nothing they can do. Just make sure you don't use the terms "bowl" or "bong", it's a tobacco pipe or a tobacco water pipe.

Domestic flights (U.S. anyway) ought not to have any problem at all, as it's not illegal unless it has marijuana resin in it. If you can legally buy a pipe, then you sure shouldn't have any problem bringing it through an airport, as, technically, it's a "smoking accessory." I'd imagine that this may vary from country-to-country, but if it's absolutely, spotlessly clean, you shouldn't have a problem.

I can uncrew my pipe and turn it into a mushroom that can hang on a necklace or something, as long as it doesnt reek, its pretty undetectable. Also I know somebody who has a pipe that turns into a pen. Pipes like this are a good investment I think when traveling. "Not for smoking MJ officer, its just an ornament" may actually work this way.

a friend of mine was leaving my house and got pulled over actually there were two friends in the car and they both got busted for possesion. my one buddies parents were real pissed and he was pretty shakin up over the whole thing. when he got back from the police station after his parents picked him up he emptied his pockets and he had one of those bowls consealed in a zippo lighter and it was packed with weed and the cops never even thought twice about it being a lighter cause he still had it. kinda crazy eh?
