ok i was at the dave matthews concert in noblesville indiana. i had .3 grams of marijuana. i had it jocked with my pipe so that no matter what a cop would confuse it as my private parts. well i met two friends that had been drinking they were 17 and im 16 i got in the car for 2 minutes and took my pipe out cause the 2 cars around us were smokin pot too.... i usually wouldnt take the risk in a situation like this but i figured what the hell its a concert. so i pulled my pipe out and set it on the seat. not a minute later 3 guys come up and flash badges... so we get out of the car and they were all on the other side of the car. i figured it was security and they were either gonna call for back up or ask us to leave... so i made the unwise decision to run. to make a long story short i jumped into a dranage pond by the parkin lot and swam across to the other side and hid in a cornfield well they found me in less than 20 minutes. they hauled me back and gave me three tickets. possesion of paraphanilia, possesion of marijuana, and resisting arrest. and called my parents who were at my house an hour and a half away. now my question is what kind of punishment will i get since this is my first offence for anything. i am willing to do community service and what not my fear is of loosing my license.

What a hard lesson you have just learned my friend. Niteshift can better advise you on the possible punishment but why for only .3 grams would you run? .3 grams is probably not worth the paperwork the LEO would have to fill out to bust you for it. Most LEO's are reasonable people and less than a third of a gram is not very much. I'm betting that running/evading a PO will get you in more trouble than the small amount and the pipe on you. If you had not run, there is the possibility they would not have found your stuff or if they had found it, they may have given you a warning and confiscated your stuff. I understand that fear will make you do irrational things sometimes though. Since you are only 16, hopefully you will end up with a fairly light punishment and an expunged record when you turn 18. They might offer you a rehab program and some community service if this is your first brush with the law and you are a "good kid". What do your parents have to say about it? Their support and help might help you get out of this as lightly as possible. Still, if I have said it once I have said it 1000 times...using responsibly (not in public places, driving around stoned with a stash, wearing MJ ad clothing etc.) greatly lessens the chances of encountering just such situations. I've been using almost daily for more than a decade and I have never even raised an LEO's eyebrow because I am super careful about how, where, and with whom I choose to partake with. thanks for the reply.... my parents are split on the issue my dad wasnt that upset he said he was disapointed in me and that i was stupid for runing, his main concern was that i was driving home high which we all know is not nearly as bad as driving drunk. my mom well its been two days and she hasnt said a word to me yet which is her way of dealing with issues like this... i know my parents will help me get out of trouble mainly because i have taken full responsibility and i am payin my parents back for all of the money they spent on the concert that i didnt even go to....the worst part of this situation was iv been planin to stop smoking pot july1st due to highschool tennis season comming up.... i guess i must have bad karma or something, i dont think iv done to many bad things to deserve to get arrested but who knows....

Yeah it was stupid but I know you were really scared (weed paranoia probably did not help) and regardless of age, high or not, we all do things that cause us to later ask ourselves "Why did I do that"? I'm glad at least that your parents are going to help. Also, I think your attitude of taking full responsibility will really go a long way towards helping you get off as lightly as possible. If you have not already, please seek expert legal representation. Nobody knows better how to work the system than a defense attorney that is experienced in your type of case. It's not bad kharma that you got caught just a little naivety/stupidity on your part. It sounds like you are a pretty good student since you are involved in tennis so I doubt you have done anything to align kharmic forces against you. Just live and learn, that's all.

At least you have the chance of getting it struck from the record. Even after 18, in many states, your first (and, judging from the others in the court room, second or thrid) offence will land you diversion (it was an 8 hour class where we discussed stuff and watched a movie). So there is already a crime going on.....one involving a car, which is the most vulnerable place for you to be.

Your age is the ONLY thing that saved you from sitting, soaking wet, in a jail cell.

I gotta tell ya, I live in an area with the ocean, canals, lakes etc. Water out the butt........and a LOT of guys try that. More end up in the hospital after nearly drowning than get away. Going in the water is a poor bet. And god forbid I have to get wet to get you........any chance of leniency is GONE.

You need to contact your clerk of courts office. If they can't answer you directly, they will tell you who can. See if there are programs available locally like "teen courts" or programs you can attend as a first offender to have the matter handled non-judicially (ie. no record when it's done).

Sorry there isn't much more I can tell you, but you kind of upped the ante when you resisted arrest.
