The other night I was at a friends house kicking back and relaxing. I had just picked up two ounces and started to drink. Well sitting there I got bored and twisted and "L" up. I went outside to the garage where everyone else was and soon there after we heard the gates open ( he has a big privacy fence ) and saw lights coming threw the sides of the garage door. Some people bolted out the side door, I stached my bag in the rafters, not in plain sight, and continued outside to the waiting officers. They talked to us for a mintue and then one fo them went into the garage and looked around. When he returned he had a few fifths and my weed. The officer dumped out the liqour, not bothering to confirm the fact that we were all of legal age to drink, and then asked whose weed it was. Of course not wanting my boy to get any heat on my account I told them it was mine. They did their thing and ran the names and finally got around to slapping a pair of cuffs on me. They took me to the police department and finger printed me and all that and finally let me out at 4am with no bail which they said was what they did when it was a first offence. I was told since it was all in once bag, there was no scale around and no baggies, they were going to charge me with simple possession. The next day I received a phone call from the narcotics det. saying that they were going to violate my "HYTA" status, which is a type of probation and that would make it a felony. The catch is he told me my probation according to his paperwork would not be over until next year when in fact I was released from probation when I was supposed to be in february of this year. I have the paperwork for all that so I am not worried about that part. I need any information on possession laws in the state of Michigan. Anything and everything will be appreciated, Thanks.

I've tried and tried again. Its no good. I've searched for laws, michigan penal code, and the legislature. I cannot locate anything that will give me solid information on the possession laws for this state.

have you tried norml? maybe it doesn't have the in depth stuff your looking for, but it has at least some info.

Yeah, I've looked through that and it is positive but I just wanted something from the state of Michigan that gave me solid info. Through checking other sites such as that one I have came to notice that there are differences in what they have listed for Michigans laws so I wanted to be sure.

You never should have told the cop that the stash was yours but instead played dumb. You talked your way into this one and gave cops what they love best “a confession.” Never let a cop scare you with their bully tactics. If possible, seek counsel and take back the confession. I’m not sure about the marijuana laws in you’re area but if they are charging, you with a misdemeanor and you have no priors you shouldn’t have much to worry about except for being busted a second time.
