A friend and I are planning on going down to Mexico this December. He told me that marijuana is legal in Mexico and that you can buy it like it is tobacco. Is he full of it or is it really legal down there?

I dont think it is Legal in Mexico but i do know they realy dont care about it and u can get dirt weed very cheep ther. I had a friend that would go there and get an Oz for 30$ or less but im with the ideah of going to Canada. hope this helps

FYI, Weed's in no way coming close to being legalized here in Canada, but the courts are in the process of legislating a bill to have possesion of small amounts decriminalized. However, passing this bill would also mean more time for those who cultivate/traffic pot.

The good thing here, is that people have a much more relaxed attitude with weed. If the cops stopped you with a couple joints they would be most likely to take them from you, call it a night and probably smoke one.

Don't go to Mexico to smoke weed, it might be dirt cheap, but you don't know what you're gettin plus it's the worst weed ever. Also you wouldn't like to be in jail over having weed on you, jails in Mexico are..... lets just say the jails here (if you've ever been in jail) are like a 5 star hotel compared to the ones there.

Mexican weed is not the worst weed ever. The reason it gets a bad name is because of the Mexican brick weed so many of us have smoked. They don't grow it like that, though, and you can find tons of great bud if you look.

Have you ever been to mexico buddy? I have, many many many times, and i have bought weed, and yes, some of it is that dirt shwag that you wouldn't eat. But that is if you are a gringo with no connections, i can get a trashbag full of mid grades for about 100 bucks, but that doesn't mean i want to buy it and bring it across the border, stupid idea. It is not legalized in mexico, cops are just usually too corrupt to give a crap on drug charges. Yes, the jails are garbage, but the thing about their legal system is that if you pay them enough money, you get out of jail free, thats how the system works. It really all depends on how street smart you are and if you have any mexican friends or relatives that can help you out. Just some white kid going south of the border and looking for weed is going to turn up with the small sack of crap, but if you know some peopl down there, then the getting is good.
