| Hi everyone, its been a long time since ive posted around here. I faded back for a little while because of what i saw as "addicted post whores", that really clogged the clockwork of the forums. There was a lack of quantity of quality intellectual exhanges. Just a bunch of kids posting pictures of their bongs and how they got in trouble at school for smoking in bathroom. (haha.. addicted.. people throw that word around so carelessly) EDIT: I just had an intresting conversation with a relative right as i was typing the beginning of this. Out of the blue, i got a call from an ole' aunt asking me to stay on the east coast maybe for a week or two. And just to meet the rest of my unknown family.Stranger things have happend. Now my Hypothetical question/scenario is this: Would you be able to bargain for a minimum secuirty prison sentence instead of a state or federal facility? Imaginary Situation: A man named Joe sells 2 pound of Marijuana in the state of Washington, pacific northwest. It turns out it was a drug bust after the police force had monitored him for sometime. The man has no previous "criminal" history, has a college education, and is generally an upstanding human being. He does not dabble in other drugs, nor does he condone their uses. But the law says he must be punished for the crime of 2 pounds. So my other questions are besides wether he would be able to bargain for a minimum security sentence; Is there an "ultimate" benchmark for the crime of "distributing Marijuana"? IE: 1 grame.. 10 grams.. 1 ounce.. 4 ounces.. 10 pounds? Which states have the lowest and highest benchmarks, and what are they? Is it even possible to negotiate for a minimum security sentence, or are there laws saying there is a mandatory federal prison setnence? IE: a small county facility that you can not have to worry about getting shanked. Versus a Big federal hell hole. Why such harsh penalties for Marijuana?... Thanks, I have looked slightly into these questions myself, but I want the input from a community of educated individuals. So I came here. -KBz ![]()

| There's a reason why "money talks". For some, it is a bargain. |

| Well, its been almost a full 30 day month. My guess is that this topic is just too riskay. I understand the policy on talking about the actual act of selling marijuana. There were just a few nagging questions in the back of my mind. I thought that if I could find out which states had the harshest penalties that could explain about that states politics/reasons for doing other things. (such as when a senator speakers out against gay marriage, or they want to persecute immigrants, etc etc). ---- If money is the easiest solution to getting someones freedom. That makes me a bit sad. |
