| I have a friend who's parents are making him move out at the age of 16. He's going to get an apartment at that time and we plan on growing in the apartment. Would this legally be in the hands of him, or his parents? He would be a minor but living seperately from his parents. If there was a bust, would any legal action be taken towards the parents? Note that this isn't a question about growing, but rather a legal question that involves growing ![]()

| 2 things. #1, if your friend wants, he can get your family in a heap of trouble from the police by kicking him out. I think fines and councilling are in order towards your parnts if this happens. #2, it depends on how the apartment is signed for. If his parents sign the lease, then they are legally responsible for anything found in the apartment. If somehow your friend slips through the cracks and manages to sign for an apartment at the age of 16, he is then responsible for anything found in that apartment. I'm not sure how it would work if your friend is legally amancipated, but from the looks of it, he isn't. |
